Baby Teardrops recently unleashed the video to fan-favorite single “Smooth Sailing Ahead,” off of their forthcoming album X Is For Love, which will be released on April 12. Directed by Serg Soza, the footage, which was shot back in January on the streets of New York City, features the Local 269, a bar on the Lower East Side, where drummer Gerry White works.
In the video cameras follow frontman Matthew Dunehoo as he walks around repeating “smooth sailing ahead” while observing others.
“I play the central character and in his open state of consideration and constant reiteration of the idea that everything will be ok, he seems to be open to radical circumstances going on around him,” said Dunehoo. “It’s as if others can tell that my character is possessed of something they can’t quite put their fingers on, in the midst of their own nonsense.”
